UPM SERDANG, JANUARY 13, 2025 – The Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication (FBMK), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), successfully held the TikTok Award 2025: Public Service Announcement on 10 January 2025 at the Za'ba Auditorium, FBMK, UPM. This programme was organised by students of the Media, Communication and Technology (KOM3305) course from the Department of Communication in collaboration with FBMK, Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), and Radihyah.

The event was graced by the presence of the Head of the Department of Communication, Dr Julia Wirza Mohd Zawawi, Ms Ma Dexiang (Sponsor Representative from Radihyah), members of FBMK’s management team, and lecturers. The competition aimed to encourage FBMK students to use media and technology creatively and produce high-quality TikTok videos that benefit the public. Additionally, it served as a platform for students to hone their creativity and innovation in producing quality content that could be shared with their peers at the university. This initiative also aligns with the national education aspiration of nurturing world-class human capital.

The collaboration with Permodalan Nasional Berhad and Radihyah played a crucial role in ensuring the programme's success, particularly in providing resources and sponsorship that ensured the smooth running of the event. Participants who produced the best videos were awarded the grand prize of RM150, presented at the end of the event. This programme not only garnered significant attention but is also hoped to serve as a catalyst for similar initiatives in the future to foster creativity and excellence among UPM students.
