UPM SERDANG, MAY 19, 2025 - Five students from the Bachelor of Arts in Arabic Language programme, Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication (FBMK), UPM, together with participants from various local and international universities, took part in the Arabic Language Associations Congress (ArLAC) 2025. The two-day event was held from 10 to 11 May 2025.

The programme was organised by the Qur'anic Language Association (IQRA’), Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA), in collaboration with the Nadi Al-Ibtikar Club, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK). It took place at Ar-Riyadah Residence and the Al-Muktafi Billah Shah Hall (DABS), UniSZA.

ArLAC, held for the first time, served as a platform to bring together representatives from Arabic language associations across both local and international universities. The congress focused on the exchange of ideas, academic forums, and conference sessions that explored topics such as career opportunities in the Arabic language field and graduate employability in the professional world. This initiative also fostered stronger inter-institutional collaboration and empowered students to enhance their mastery and application of the Arabic language in a holistic manner.

It is hoped that programmes like ArLAC will continue in the future as an annual platform to strengthen academic networks, elevate the status of the Arabic language, and broaden international learning opportunities among students.
