SERDANG, Nov 27 - The dream of attaining a PhD before reaching the age of 30 has finally been achieved by Dr. Muhammad Faizul Abd Hamid, 29, who successfully obtained a PhD in Discourse Studies at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) during the 47th Convocation Ceremony of UPM's 2nd Session for the year 2023. He aims to continue empowering the Malay language.

 

According to Dr. Muhammad Faizul, Malay is a civilized language, and the development in the lives of the community all begins with the use of the Malay language in this country. Dr. Muhammad Faizul has conducted numerous free Malay language seminars to assist SPM students with less proficiency in Kelantan, Sabah, Pahang, and the Klang Valley in mastering the Malay language.

 

As a lover of the Malay language, Dr. Muhammad Faizul also utilizes his social media platforms such as Twitter, TikTok, and Instagram to share tips and promote the love for the Malay language, supporting efforts in preserving and developing the language.

 

Being an individual passionate about sharing knowledge of the Malay language, Dr. Muhammad Faizul has received an offer from a production company to host his own television program, "Geng Cakap Bahasa," which will be aired on Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM).

 

"The Malay language is the fifth-largest language in the world, and we should not feel ashamed to use it. In this regard, Dr. Muhammad Faizul emphasizes that investing in knowledge is crucial for society, especially for the younger generation, not just to build a career but as a foundation to navigate daily life and face future challenges.

 

"I firmly believe in education. Anyone can be an influencer, YouTuber, or content creator, but education will make us different, knowledgeable, and credible. Be an educated group because an educated group is 'different' in terms of communication, thinking, work approach, and in dealing with problems," he said.
