UPM SERDANG, MAY 7, 2024 - In an effort to strengthen cooperation between academic fields and cultural heritage, the Malay Heritage Museum, Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication (FBMK) at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), and the Johor Heritage Foundation have held historic discussions on April 30. The purpose of these discussions is to establish a solid foundation for cooperation between the two parties in the fields of research, teaching, learning, and joint program organization.

Delegates from FBMK UPM, led by Associate Professor Dr. Hazlina Abdul Halim, Dean of FBMK, were warmly welcomed by Mr. Fairuzahri Jalaluddin, Director of the Johor Heritage Foundation, as well as several department heads from the Foundation. Also present to facilitate these discussions were Dato’ Dr. Abdul Mua’ti Zamri @ Ahmad and Dr. Arba’ie Sujud as Consulting Fellows, and Ms. Alia Amira Abd Rahim as an Executive Officer.

In addition to intensive discussions, the FBMK delegation was given the opportunity to experience and appreciate the facilities and exhibitions provided at the Sultan Abu Bakar Heritage Complex. These steps are expected to further strengthen cooperation between the two parties, leading to more outstanding results in the preservation and dissemination of Malay cultural heritage.
