
UPM SERDANG, 29 April 2026 – The Office of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research and Innovation), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), successfully organised the Workplace Ergonomics Briefing virtually via Zoom on 28 April 2026.
The programme was conducted in response to the evolving nature of modern work environments, where workplaces are no longer confined to traditional office settings but extend to homes and various remote locations. In this context, the briefing aimed to enhance awareness and understanding among university staff on the importance of ergonomics in promoting physical well-being, mental health, and sustained work productivity.
The session was delivered by Associate Professor Dr. Ng Yee Guan, Senior Lecturer from the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, UPM. He shared valuable insights and practical guidance on proper ergonomic practices that can be applied in daily work routines.
The programme received an encouraging response, with a total of 300 UPM staff participating, reflecting the university’s continuous commitment to fostering a healthy, safe, and conducive working environment.
Overall, the organisation of this briefing is expected to have a positive impact in strengthening awareness of ergonomic practices and contributing towards improved well-being and work efficiency among UPM staff.
