UPM SERDANG - The Department of Communication, Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication (FBMK), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) organised 'The Inaugural Strategic Communication For A Sustainable Future Colloquium 2024' on 14th November 2024, sponsored by Affin Bank Berhad, presenting various significant contemporary strategic communication issues.

The colloquium was officiated by the Dean of FBMK, Associate Prof. Dr. Hazlina Abdul Halim, followed by the keynote address by Mr. Syed Mohammed Idid, Senior General Manager of Strategic Communications & Stakeholder Engagement at WCE Holdings Berhad.

A forum featuring three experienced panellists: Ms. Daisy Sidhu (Grab Malaysia), Mr. Abdul Latiff Puteh (Institute of Public Relations Malaysia), and Mr. Eizaz Azhar (Asian Strategy & Leadership Institute) was also held.

In the afternoon session, a Corporate Case Study was presented by Mr. Risham Akashah Kamaruzaman (Chief Operating Officer, Affin Bank Berhad) to the colloquium participants.

More than 70 academic research posters, produced by hundreds of participants, were displayed at various strategic locations. Held at Menara Affin@TRX, this colloquium aimed to integrate academic research findings with industry experience, to achieve sustainable future goals together.

The organisation of this programme was made possible through the guidance of the Head of the Department of Communication, FBMK, Dr. Julia Wirza Mohd Zawawi, with close collaboration from all department members led by the Programme Director, Dr. Jen Sern Tham.
