
UPM SERDANG, January 17, 2025 – The Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication (FBMK), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), through the Intercultural Communication Course (KOH3361), organised an educational visit to Malaysia Heritage Studio, Melaka. This visit involved the participation of 70 students and lecturers, including international students, as part of efforts to explore the diversity of customs and cultures in Malaysia.
The visit aimed to expose students to the unique cultures of each Malaysian state, aligning with the course objectives that emphasise understanding cross-cultural communication. Additionally, it served as a platform to promote local tourism attractions to international students, who had the opportunity to experience the richness of Malaysia’s cultural heritage firsthand.
Moreover, the programme assisted students in obtaining detailed information for their final course projects. The visit to Malaysia Heritage Studio offered an interactive experience, including cultural demonstrations and in-depth explanations of the history and distinctive elements of various ethnic communities in Malaysia.
This initiative reflects FBMK, UPM's commitment to providing dynamic and holistic learning experiences for its students. It not only enhanced their understanding of intercultural communication but also fostered a generation of graduates who are more knowledgeable and sensitive to the nation’s cultural heritage.
