UPM SERDANG – The Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication (FBMK), UPM, received an official visit from representatives of Guangdong University of Foreign Studies (GDUFS), China, namely Associate Professor Li Wanjun and Ms. Zaiton Zakarya. The visit aimed to explore potential academic collaborations between the two universities, including plans to establish a Dual Internship Base.

This initiative seeks to provide opportunities for students from both institutions to undergo industrial training in Malaysia and China, enriching their international experiences. Furthermore, the collaboration includes plans for joint seminars and conferences in the fields of language, literature, and culture, as well as academic expertise exchange programs.

The Faculty of Asian Languages and Cultures at GDUFS offers a Bachelor’s Degree in Malay Language, which is currently the second most popular program among students in China. Both parties are working towards strengthening this partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), expected to be formalized soon.

FBMK extends its gratitude to GDUFS for choosing UPM as a strategic partner in expanding the higher education network. This collaboration is anticipated to enhance international academic relations and elevate the reputation of both institutions.
