Some leaders often have their own playbook of ideas and strategies, and they tend to pull out a 'go-to' approach when facing situations that require a different plan, thinking it has worked in the past and will work again in a new situation.

When this happens, they are unconsciously or unknowingly putting their leadership approach on auto-pilot. They are then surprised when things do not go as planned.
