Introduction
The Department of Malay Language focuses on the development of the Malay language in terms of language skills, grammar, and linguistics. In the field of Malay Literature, emphasis is placed on classification, criticism, and the creation of creative works. Additionally, the Department also focuses on Malay culture. All these aspects are highlighted through teaching, research, publication, outreach, and consultation activities. This department also pays attention to translation and writing aspects, as their importance becomes increasingly apparent in the context of future national development.
The organization and integration of these focal aspects and fields are in line with the concept and goals of an integrated approach to language studies that unify linguistic, literary, and cultural aspects as a means of civilization building. Such emphasis is also jointly promoted to ensure that academic disciplines can develop extensively and systematically. Additionally, the establishment of this department takes into account the planning of new programs for the future so that its existence can make effective and meaningful contributions to fulfilling the aspirations of the people and the needs of the nation.
