SERDANG, Dec 14 – Say It Louder Forum! took place today with an invited panel which is the Founder of Project Fearless and Clue to the Zoo, Ashiqin Shamsuri, Lecturer in the Department of Communication, FBMK, UPM, Dr. Diyana Kasimon and Social Media Influencer, Mark O'Dea at Za'ba Hall, Faculty of Modern Languages ​​and Communication (FBMK), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM).

The forum brought the topic of Influence and Publicity: Navigating the Social Media Landscape and was organized by the Student Association of the Faculty of Modern Languages ​​and Communication (FALCOMM), UPM to provide specific knowledge and steps to practice publicity knowledge to UPM students.

Program director, Pretheveraj a/l Vijaya Perapagaran said, he hopes that through the forum, UPM students will better understand the use of social media in practicing the science of publicity as well as building networks individually and organizationally.

"Nowadays social media mostly displays negative content in pursuit of popularity and there are actually ethical ways that can be applied to become a quality content creator or influencer," he said.

Program participant, Zaty Zulaikha Z'ulfatah said that as a Bachelor of Communication student, FBMK, UPM, the forum was very informative and he admitted that he got good input through the three panels.

"For me it is good to know in depth about the science of publicity and to be able to strengthen my skills from the aspect of publicity on social media that can be used in the future," he said.

Bachelor of Arts (Foreign Language) student with a French Major, FBMK, UPM, Wong Chin Wee said the program gave him the understanding to use social media platforms correctly and gave him inspiration to produce content that could benefit society.

"This is important because we need to use social media creatively without creating conflict and confusion to make positive changes to society," he said.

Meanwhile, FALCOMM UPM is a student association under FBMK, UPM was established to act as an intermediary in all matters related to the faculties within the University.
