UPM SERDANG, JULY 15, 2025 – A vibrant musical theatre production filled with colour, emotion, and extraordinary talent – The Sound of Music – was staged at the Radin Umar Auditorium, Faculty of Engineering, UPM on 14 June 2025. The programme was the creative outcome of students from the BBL4401 Drama Production and Performance Techniques course, under the Department of English, Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication (FBMK).
More than 50 students were directly involved in this production, including as actors, technical crew, costume designers, and production staff. This iconic musical was performed twice – at 3.00 p.m. and 8.00 p.m. – and received an enthusiastic response from both the campus community and the surrounding public.
The event was further graced by the presence of Associate Professor Dr. Hazlina Abdul Halim, Dean of FBMK, along with faculty management and lecturers – a clear show of strong support for the students’ talent and dedication. Their presence served as both recognition and motivation for the entire production team.
The performance also received strategic support from industry sponsors including Biscochiz, PKS Maju, and Jantzen, who contributed to the development of student arts and creativity.
With passion, dedication, and a love for the performing arts, this production proved that music is not merely entertainment, but a soul that unites.
Congratulations to all BBL4401 students and lecturers on this remarkable achievement!
