UPM SERDANG, April 17, 2025 – Over 80 students from the Department of Communication enrolled in the Bachelor Dissertation course (KOM4959A and KOM4959B) participated in a series of online webinars conducted via the Zoom platform during the first and second weeks of the academic calendar for the Second Semester 2024/2025.

The Bachelor Dissertation Writing Guide Program was an initiative organized by the Department of Communication, Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication (FBMK), Universiti Putra Malaysia, and led by the Bachelor Dissertation/Final Year Project Coordinator of the Department of Communication, Dr. Nur Atirah Kamaruzaman.

The program had a positive impact on students in various aspects, including mastery of the dissertation structure and format in accordance with FBMK’s official guidelines, as well as enhanced academic writing skills that emphasised the use of formal language and ethical management of reference sources.

In addition, students were exposed to effective planning and time management techniques throughout the research and writing process. The program also successfully boosted students’ confidence in producing high-quality dissertations, both in terms of solid academic writing and engaging, professional oral presentations.

This initiative reflects the Department of Communication’s commitment to empowering students as competitive and ethical young researchers in the academic world.
