Southern Thailand Tour Program 2.0 Enlivens the Independence Month at FBMK

WALAILAK UNIVERSITY, THAILAND, 28 JULY 2025 – 10 AUGUST 2025 – The Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication Student Representative Council (FALCOMM), together with the 12th College Student Representative Council of UPM and Walailak University, Thailand, successfully organised the Southern Thailand Tour 2.0 in a hybrid format. This was a combination of physical and online activities held from 28 July 2025 to 10 August 2025.

Among the activities and programs carried out were the Program Opening Ceremony, organisational benchmarking between the Malay Language Culture Club of Walailak University, FALCOMM, and the 12th College Student Representative Council (MPK K12), a forum with MLCC titled “Fostering Bonds, Pioneering the Future: UPM-WU United”, beach cleaning at Tha Sung Bon, a visit to the School of Political Science & Public Administration at Walailak University, cleaning of the Ban Klang Muslim Cemetery, Malay language facilitation at Maahad Islam Imaneeyah Foundation School, mangrove tree planting at Ban Laem, a visit to the Consulate General of Malaysia in Songkhla, and a visit to the Malay Archipelago Quran Manuscript Museum in Narathiwat.

This August, the participants also carried the spirit of Malaysia’s 68th Independence Day by proudly waving the Jalur Gemilang at strategic locations. Independence is not merely a celebration – it is a spirit we carry wherever we go.

The Faculty also extends its heartfelt gratitude (ขอบคุณครับ/ค่ะ) to the School of Political Science & Public Administration, Walailak University, the Malay Language Culture Club of Walailak University, Maahad Islam Imaneeyah Foundation School, the Consulate General of Malaysia in Songkhla, and the Malay Archipelago Quran Manuscript Museum in Narathiwat for their warm hospitality throughout our time in Southern Thailand.

It is our hope that this collaboration will continue in the future.
