HERITAGE RUN: "Consumers as the Pulse of National Culture"

UPM Serdang, 24 May 2025 – In conjunction with the 30th anniversary of the Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication (FBMK), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), the Malay Heritage Museum of FBMK, in collaboration with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Kajang Branch, successfully organized the 2025 Heritage Run themed "Consumers as the Pulse of National Culture."

The event drew overwhelming participation from a diverse community, including UPM students and staff, senior citizens, children, the differently abled (OKU), and members of the public. The 3KM and 5KM runs not only promoted healthy lifestyles but also served as a unique platform to celebrate and promote Malay cultural heritage in a fun, inclusive manner.

The program started as early as 7.00 AM with participant registration, followed by an aerobic warm-up and safety briefing. The 5KM run was officially flagged off by UPM Registrar Mr. Muhazam Mansor, while the 3KM run was flagged off by special guest, veteran Malaysian actor Datuk Jalaluddin Hassan.

Adding to the excitement was the presence of popular social media influencer, Airulmi Mokhtar, also known as Alrumie, who is known for promoting fitness, health awareness, and the importance of regular exercise.

A key highlight of the event was the lucky draw session, officiated by Mr. Muhazam Mansor (UPM Registrar), Mr. Ruhaizad Zahari (Head of KPDN Kajang Branch), and Associate Professor Dr. Hazlina Abdul Halim (Dean of FBMK UPM). Additionally, the public also enjoyed the Rahmah Madani Sales held alongside the run.

All registered participants received an exclusive medal, official event t-shirt, numbered bib, and e-certificate in recognition of their support and participation.

The Heritage Run 2025 successfully demonstrated how cultural heritage andnity well-being can be harmoniously strengthened through inclusive, cross-generational community engagement. It was not just a run—it was a vibrant celebration of unity, heritage, and healthy living.
