SERDANG, 27 August- The Department of English, Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication (FBMK), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), is holding the 13th Malaysia International Conference on Languages, Literatures and Cultures (MICOLLAC 2025) at St. Giles Wembley Penang Hotel from 26 to 28 August 2025.
With the theme “Bridging Words and Worlds: Dynamic Dialogues in Languages, Literatures and Cultures”, the conference brings together scholars, researchers, and industry experts from different countries to share ideas and discuss current issues related to language, literature, and culture.

The opening ceremony featured academic leaders and local representatives who stressed the importance of intercultural dialogue in building global understanding.

Among the guests were Prof. Ir. Dr. B.T. Hang Tuah Baharudin, UPM Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Industry and Community Relations); Wong Hon Wai, Penang State Executive Councillor for Tourism and Creative Economy; and Prof. Dr. Hsu Ming Teo from Macquarie University, Australia.
MICOLLAC 2025 is expected to create more opportunities for international research collaboration and strengthen UPM’s role as a leading global university.
