FBMK 2025 Qurban Program: “Embracing Piety, Weaving Brotherhood” Igniting the Spirit of Aidiladha

UPM SERDANG, June 11, 2025 – The Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication (FBMK), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), successfully organised the FBMK Qurban Programme: “Embracing Piety, Weaving Brotherhood” 1446H / 2025M in conjunction with the 2025 Aidiladha celebration. This initiative aims to honour the spirit of sacrifice, nurture religious values, and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood among the faculty community.

Held at the Sanggar Bahasa, Block C, FBMK, the programme began at 11:30 a.m. and received an enthusiastic response from lecturers, staff, and students alike. A variety of activities were held, including communal cooking (rewang), the distribution of qurban meat, and a shared lunch prepared through teamwork. The event radiated a warm and familial atmosphere, reflecting the unity and spirit of mutual cooperation that lie at the heart of the Aidiladha celebration.

Adding further significance to the event was the presence of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Industry and Community Relations), Prof. Ir. Dr. B.T. Hang Tuah Baharuddin, who expressed his appreciation for FBMK’s commendable effort in organising a programme rooted in spiritual and communal values. He also emphasised the importance of such initiatives in fostering a culture of respect, empathy, and stronger relationships within the university community.

The qurban programme not only fulfils a religious obligation but also serves as a platform to strengthen the Muslim identity among faculty members. It underscores FBMK’s commitment to instilling noble values and promoting a harmonious spirit of teamwork aligned with both religious teachings and humanistic values.

With the theme “Embracing Piety, Weaving Brotherhood,” FBMK hopes that such programmes will continue in the future as a means to reinforce unity and deepen the true meaning of sacrifice.
