UPM SERDANG, May 6, 2025 – The ESCAPADE 2025: Bridging Cultures Through Languages program, organized by the Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication (FBMK), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), continued to serve as a platform for regional knowledge and cultural exchange with the visit of a student delegation from Walailak University, Thailand, led by accompanying officer Abdulroya Panaemalae.
Held over six days from 28 April to 3 May, the program embraced an experiential learning approach that offered participants direct exposure to Malaysian culture, language, heritage, and lifestyle—particularly within the UPM campus environment.
Throughout the program, participants were given the opportunity to explore the history and heritage of the Malay world through an exclusive visit to the Malay Heritage Museum and gained insights into the broadcasting world during a tour of Putra FM radio station. The academic segment was enriched with a Heritage Communication lecture by Prof. Dato’ Dr. Abdul Mua’ti @ Zamri Ahmad and an introductory Basic Malay Language class conducted by Dr. Muhammad Faizul Abd Hamid—sessions that not only broadened participants’ understanding but also sparked deeper interest in local language and culture.
A key highlight of the program was the visit to UPM’s Ladang 10, coordinated by EduPark in collaboration with UCTC UPM. Here, participants learned about stingless bee farming and experienced hands-on paddy planting, offering them a unique and insightful perspective on Malaysia’s sustainable agricultural practices.
The program was further enlivened by an interactive session with students from FBMK and Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), held in a relaxed yet intellectual setting at the Za'ba Auditorium. The engaging atmosphere fostered meaningful dialogue and strengthened regional friendships through open cultural exchange.
ESCAPADE 2025: Bridging Cultures Through Languages is more than just a summer camp—it is a life-changing journey that opens minds, builds lasting cross-border friendships, and celebrates language and culture as bridges for global unity. Join us in the next edition and experience the magic of cultural exploration for yourself!
