July 29, 2023 - Today's Southern Thailand Tour is heading to Pattani to find out and learn more about the Malay community in general and the Malay language in Thailand. The participants had the opportunity to visit Sultan Muzaffar Shah Mosque or better known as Kerisek Mosque by the community in Pattani. This mosque is one of the oldest mosques and the first mosque in Southeast Asia that was built using red bricks made in Tarab Bata village. The participants also had the opportunity to perform Zohor and Asr prayers in congregation at the mosque.

 

Next, the journey continues to Yarang Ancient City. Yarang Ancient City is one of the largest historical cities in Southern Thailand and is also believed to be the location of the "Langkasuka" empire in ancient times. This ancient monument is a religious place of the Buddhist community through the discovery of some ancient materials there. Finally, the participants had the opportunity to visit Jamek Pattani Mosque.
