Serdang, [7 November 2023] The Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication (FBMK), in excellent collaboration with Pertubuhan Tulir Malaysia (PTM), and Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) is proud to announce Kongres Pelestarian Standard Bahasa Melayu (KOPESTA) Sekolah Rendah Peringkat Kebangsaan 2023.

Taking the theme 'Seia Sekata Setia Sentiasa', KOPESTA 2023 was an initiative inspired by our desire to strengthen the standard of the Malay language among primary school students nationwide. With the aim of fostering awareness and excellence in the use of the Malay language, we hope to create a society that is strong in the personality and culture of the national language.

The congress was attended by nearly 300 primary school teachers who taught Bahasa Melayu at the Auditorium Rashdan Baba, Pejabat Timbalan Naib Canselor (Penyelidikan dan Inovasi), Universiti Putra Malaysia.

KOPESTA 2023 was a unique platform that opened up opportunities for participants to share and strengthen their knowledge of the Malay language. With various activities such as discussions, workshops, and knowledge sessions with language experts, we hope to produce educators who are more motivated to uphold the national language.

In addition, the congress also explores the latest issues in the use of the Malay language in the context of digital and social media, with a focus on a smart and responsible approach. This help participants, especially teachers, to guide students in using the Malay language effectively in the era of technology.

This is a positive step in ensuring that the Malay language remains a valuable and quality national asset.
