UPM SERDANG, APRIL 5, 2024 - The "Bersahabat Dengan Kamus" program held at the Seri Amar Room in the Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication (FBMK), UPM, received a special visit from Mrs. Zuraini Yeop Ahmad, Head of the Bilingual Unit representing the Lexicography Division of the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka.

The program was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Modern Languages and Communication, Associate Professor Dr. Hazlina Abdul Halim, as well as the Head of the Foreign Language Department, Associate Professor Dr. Abd Rauf Hassan. Additionally, several students from FBMK participated in this joint program with Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka.

The objective of the program is to raise awareness and promote the use of dictionaries in language learning, especially the use of bilingual dictionaries. The visit from the Institute of Language and Literature added significance to the program, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between educational institutions and authorities in advancing language understanding among students.

During her visit, Ms. Zuraini Yeop Ahmad expressed appreciation for FBMK's initiative in promoting the use of dictionaries as essential learning tools. She also emphasized the importance of cooperation in efforts to preserve and enrich language as a significant cultural heritage.

This program is expected to mark the beginning of further collaboration between FBMK, UPM, and the Institute of Language and Literature in supporting language learning in Malaysia.
